For him, it wasn't simply a matter of urgency and worry, but he knew that any reason behind Aretha simply stepping into the road without thinking was something truly frightening. The Dead Line - Dashed ExpectationsAretha saw him standing on the corner, pacing impatiently back and forth. She'd never seen Ian walk out to the neighborhood across from the high school, and she wondered why he was waiting there. She tried not to stare as she waited for the sign to say WALK, and as she crossed the street, but her curiosity was beginning to best her. It was all she could do to stop herself from leaving Arwen's side and simply striding up to him to ask what was wrong. Aretha turned her head away and walked on, pretending she hadn't seen anyone on the opposite corner at all.
